I go in with coffee (usually Starbucks) for all and ask to speak with the office manager. It usually gets me in. Or you can call, ask how many are in the office and what kind of pizza they would like for lunch.

Back in the day when I worked in a office it was policy that the office staff didn't talk to any sales reps that were not offering food.

What are you wanting to talk to them about?

Yup, you can bring food or donuts or whatever...and be just like everyone else.

Ever think of mailing a note that makes them want to call you?

In my area is it NOT what everyone is doing. I have great success because I seem to be the only one doing it here. Everytime I visit a new Doctor office they are excited and tell me no one else has done this. Not even the pharmacutical reps. They bring pens and pads of paper. Food works much better.

Haven't seen it, but would bet dollars to donuts it's lame and ineffective.

You need something a little more creative to stand out.

Just blow you way in, like the Blues Brothers did with the tax appraisal office-- just be sure to block the exit doors...

Moonlight...I think part of your posts are getting cut off.

For example:
"Yup, you can bring food or donuts or whatever...and be just like everyone else.

Ever think of mailing a note that makes them want to call you?"

You left off the part that says what that note might say.

Another example:
"Yup, you can bring food or donuts or whatever...and be just like everyone else.

Ever think of mailing a note that makes them want to call you?"

Here the part where you give some constructive ideas on what might included in a note like that got cut off.

I know it must be the forum, because there's no way that anyone on here wanting to help someone else would offer constructive criticism without the constructive part, so my guess is it's just getting cut off. Maybe the moderators can figure out the problem.

Would you mind posting the other parts of your posts?

Thanks.

No, there's no mistake Chris.

My philosophy and raison d'etre is this: maybe my post(s) can trigger your thinking. That's the most constructive thing I could ever do for you, or anyone else.

If you don't have the ability to think for yourself, you can hire me on a consulting basis to think for you. But I don't think you can afford me.

You are completely correct. Agents don't do this.

I did this briefly when I was less lazy and had and still have doctors referring their patients to me for health and medicare.

Sometimes you don't have think outside the box. Just be a little more active than 99.9% of the agents.

How about delivering donuts to a bariatric surgery office?

That would be interesting. I don't usually go to offices that are not covered by the health insurance I am selling. Could always try that at the Dentist or Orthodontist office.

In my area, this would not work as most pros that visit businesses provide this type of service, so it would be "more of the same".

But, if it is working for you as most of your peers do not provide this service, then that is great.

I do agree with Moonlight on one point, which is I am hoping that you are qualifying that you would like to discuss benefits, etc while you are providing them lunch, bag food, etc...

Absolutely! I get quite a few referrals this way. I do track which offices the referrals are coming from.
