Have a life client that was just informed by American Family that because they have a pitbull they either need to get rid of their dog or their rates are going to more than double and they need to sign an agreement that any claims relating to the dog will be excluded.

Anyone know of a carrier in MO with more relaxed policy?

No prior claims.

Have the pit bull see a lawyer about adverse selection. Don't tell Al about this because all Alabama 58er's still have a pit bull to keep the rif raf out of the yard. I'd even go so far as to postulate that there is a positive correlation between mobile homes and pit bulls. The only better "fence" is a .38. These are sure evidence of three violations of the liberal manifesto and concrete proof of the white trash security blanket. I am Heinz 57 so not sure where my loyalties lie...

There are companies that will insure someone with aggressive dog breeds but rates tend to high and they usually offer a very small liability limit for animals. Assurant is one that I know of off the top of my head.

When I worked at Farmer's, the DM told me that unlike other insurers, they didn't have a "banned dog" list.

I don't know what might have changed since I left Farmers in 2006, but check out Foremost and any other Farmer's owned companies.
