So I have alot of people that want me to be their agent.. Life and Health.. So how do I transfer them to me?

Get them to sign an Agent of Record letter replacing their current agent. For an example, here's BCBSGA's AOR: http://www.danielhealthinsurance.com...f%20Record.pdf

Also . . . bear in mind some carriers make it almost impossible. BX GA has some stiff requirements and almost never honors AOR unless you are a major producer. Aetna will honor the AOR but continue to pay the original producer. Some carriers only honor AOR in renewal years which means you are working for next to nothing.

I have quite a few KP clients in Georgia that were taken over by AOR. Most of them applied direct to KP and could not get anything done dealing direct.

I also have some group clients via AOR. Other than KP, I see no reason for asking for an AOR on individual plans.

You're forgetting about Humana and Assurant. The AOR process is easy with them.

I don't actively seek AOR, but the few that I do have turned out to be little gems.

Sounds like you've really benefited from it.

Guess that depends on where you are.... In California, especially Assurant is almost non-existent. They forgot to have rates that are smaller than the states budget.

Perhaps some of the Spendulus money will help them out so they can have lower rates.

Bill, could be wrong, but I believe H1 & Time only recognize AOR after the first year. So all you get are renewals. Of course, given the excessively high rates of Time, I guess I could make a good living off them if I didn't feel so guilty about not replacing those plans with something that is just as good, or better, for 30% less.
