I think a good online course should be accessible from multiple locations so that you can study where you feel the most comfortable. Since computers and internet connections have made giant leaps recently it seems fair to say that a good online course should have quite a bit of multimedia attached to keep the student involved and not sleeping.
One of the key advantages to online courses is if you fail your exam, most of the time you can go back and look over the lectures again and again until you feel comfortable with the troubling concepts. A book is alright for this type of review but watching the material and testing on it repeatedly should get it done.
The course material should have a pretty good
first time pass rate. I would think 70-80%+ should be expected. I don't think many insurance prelicensing companies make it in the industry with pass rates below 70%. Now I think from some of the statistics I've seen out there the second time through pass rate tends to be average around 50% which means that most students who take the exam twice get through it. But let's face it, some people have a difficult time testing and others just aren't cut out to be in the insurance industry.
Good luck finding an online solution!
