I actually subscribe to a service and get unlimited access for a year at a time for an annual fee.

It allows me to pull businesses nationwide, scrub the according to industry, # of employees, annual revenue, etc. Once I pick an area I want to prospect, I can pull a 1-100 mile radius from an address or zip code and scrub down the specific kinds of businesses. The result is a really nice PDF or Excel sheet with business name, address, phone number, contact person, # employees, sales volume, SIC codes, etc. I can then upload into my lead manager to dial away or for direct mail.

For the money, it's the best thing I have found for prospecting businesses compared to what many of the list companies where charging me before!
