Of course not. All of you neo-cons sit on your big fat white asses and do nothing but criticize. Believe me, if Obama didn't go to Denmark to "pitch" the committee you racist conservatives in this venue would skewer him for not trying. There is nothing he could ever do to please you... except resign the office.
You neo-cons disgust me. It is not the politics of the man you hate it is the man himself and in my opinion it is because of the color of his skin.
You neo-cons will never admit it, but you are the same guys I saw in Selma and in Montgomery and all the other places where white supremacy was being challenged in the South. I well remember the hate in your eyes and the sneer on your lips.
You can deny it until the cows come home but those of us who were there in Alabama of the early 1960s know that you young crackers are cut from the same cloth as your parents and are part and parcel of the same ideology... that only a white man can be president.
Oh yes, you will deny it, but you are only fooling yourselves. Here was an honest effort by the president to "win" the Olympics and all you neo-con assholes post here are your racist polemics and show your prejudices against the man... not the politics.
Had Bush gone and lost you would be hailing him. But a black guy?
Guys, I know you for who you are and what you stand for and what you really want to see. I've seen you all before.
You see the guy with his left hand up pointing at the victim? I know just which one of you he is.
I admit it. I am a libertarian and apparently I believe Obama is bad for the country, not because he's a left-wing wacko liberal socialist liar, but because he's black.
I feel much better now. Anyone else want to testify?

That's fine. If you disagree with his politics, no problem. But for the neo-cons here to take such hostile umbrage over the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES going to Denmark to make a sales-pitch on behalf of the country he leads... is simply racist in my opinion. That's not politics... that's just plain hatred.
As for being a libertarian, no one knows what that is... probably because even they don't know what they stand for... nor do they have a credible spokesperson.
I'm convinced that the Libertarians are the Unitarians of American politics. The believe in something, but at any given time they are not quite sure what it is or how to define it. (Sounds like a congregation of Reform Jews as well!)
Of course I define Libertarianism as the worship of greed and self-aggrandizement packaged with avarice and egocentricity... but I'm sure others get a warm of fluffy feeling by identifying with this cultist cadre of conservative kooks (for those of you here who are educated enough to appreciate a bit of alliteration.)
There are a couple of obvious things that tick me off about Obama's joy ride to Denmark. And don't forget, apart from fueling up the 747 and carrying a boat load of folks across the Atlantic, there is all the support equipment, cargo planes, security personnel, etc., that make the trip. Millions and millions and millions of Chicago money has been spent underwriting the cost of sending the President to Europe. Oops, I forgot, Chicago won't be paying that bill, the cost is being underwritten by the federal government which means that some of that is coming out of my pocket here in Kentucky.
But here's what really ticks me off about Obama's week in Denmark. The General in charge of the Afghan theatre of operations wants/needs more troops. Now the normal decision would be and should be which divisions to send. But the Obama administration response is "We need to think about it".
Last Sunday, on 60 minutes, the General said that he has spoken to the President once since being given the job of leading our efforts in Afganistan. Now I realize we have two wars under way, but during the campaign Obama said the important war was Afganistan, because that's where Bin Laden and the Taliban are. And courtesy of the surge and the success of our troops in Iraq, coupled with the deteriorating situation in Afganistan, you would think Obama should be focussed on winning in Afganistan. It doesn't look like it to me.
And Obama is handcuffed by the fact he has NO military experience, NOT A STITCH. Our commander in chief has to rely completely on his military subordinates for advice. You would think that someone who has no experience, and who is responsible for the LIVES of our men and women in uniform, would be anxious to soak up all the information and advice they could get.
But Obama apparently has no time to talk to the General in charge of the most important war. By contrast, he has time to head over to Denmark to try to persuade the Europeons that a new day has dawned in America and that we deserve the Olympic games. How that will preserve, protect and defend the Constition is beyond me.
Am I the only one who thinks that this President has his priorities a little mixed up?
Personally, I think Obama's doing a little too much to help out his buddies in hometown Chicago.
Either way, lobbying for the Olympic games is NOT a job for the President of the country, it's a job for the mayor of Chicago and the governor of Illinois.
And Al, which previous President, Republican or Democrat, can you point to and say that they too flew across the ocean for a week to lobby the Olympic committee to bring the games to the U.S.A.? What president was that?
And why do you think neocons care about the Olympic games? Aren't the neocons the same people who hate the UN and hate immigrants?
And finally, please don't accuse this conservative of being a racist. That dog will not hunt.
I feel much better now. Anyone else want to testify?
Rick
Yes, I am definitely against him for his color as well. I don't like having a president who is 100% pink.

You say that like it is a bad thing.
Chicago has a reputation for exuding ugliness, crime, corruption, and crooked dealmaking. Arguably, President Obama is not exactly the one to be promoting Chicago even if Chicago were worthy. He personifies much, if not most, of what is wrong with that "venue." Some libs make the argument here that he went over to represent the US and what a great president he must be for doing so. However, a credible argument can be made that the interests in Chicago that created him and own him sent their dog out to get some payback and to continue to jump through hoops for them. You decide. I am sure that Valerie Jarrett (sp) would get a cut of any Olympic Village housing activity and Tony will too even though he is, of present, in the can. Not to worry, Obama has enough cronies there to keep all the bases covered.
I would like to see Rio get it and build a housing complex for athletes and maybe some stadium type buildings that can be converted to conference facilities when it is over. Thus, they will not only be able to host the Olympics, they will also be able to "host" the United Nations for a decade or two afterwards. No reason why they should not have an opportunity. I am sure it will hurt the economy in NYC for a while, especially the hookers and local restaurants where the "diplomats" hang out all day.
Chavez will have his street demonstrators out bigtime at the Rio Olympics. CNN and MSNBC will be broadcasting those demonstrations 24/7 and the libs here will be watching every move to learn about all the areas in South America where we owe an apology. Except there will be brief interludes to cover Michelle arriving with some sleeveless outfit on. Personally, I am going to be oogling the women's volleyball team so probably will miss most of that..

Yes, the Europeans love Obama, Winter -- but they adore Pele. I saw on the news that he was Obama's sparing partner in Denmark. Except in the USA, Pele shares the same perch as the Pope. Perhaps a branch or two higher. As good as our President is, he can't compete with Pele's stature. Chicago was a non-starter.

Indeed I believe it was Lee Travino who said "black is beautiful but brown is cute." This is something that President Obama needs to keep in mind.
No one is interested in seeing Michelle Obama's old tired routine of parading her bare arms around when she is competing with the gals from Brazil for attention.
Yes, excellent point! Babes from Brazil are enough reason for a Rio visit sans any Olympics. If I wasn't so tired chasing my grandkids, chasing some to that forbidden tropical fruit would be heavenly.
I dont understand, what's wrong with trying and failing? The only thing humilliating, in my own opinion, would be to not try again.
True, but the issue is that people (libs especially) are beginning to look more and more for areas where he is trying and actually having some success. Yes, the election was zippy and he was highly successful in overcoming odds there. Beyond that it gets kind of skimpy.
