Newbie. Several questions, and forgive me if it's elementary.

1) Can anyone recommended a good list of carriers in CA for Life Insurance products. For example I tried to register with Mutual of Omaha but they required a registration key ( i thought they weren't really captive).
2) Should I appoint with a selective few companies, or as many as I can. However, I've read here that if you sign up with one carrier in life insurance, they usually restrict you to selling only their products. Is this really true?
3) When you use a comparison software like termsales.com, you get cornucopia of companies. Lets say the best available policy is with company you've never heard of and have no appointments with. Would u choose to make an appointment with that company, if you can, to get that policy for your client or go with the companies your already appointed with and trust.
