Oh, Lindsey Graham is standing up to Republicans like Limbaugh and Beck. Here's your Mr. Graham:
The problem is that there are a few others that Lindsey is finding that he has to stand up to as well. They're not too happy with him either (count me in):
Rick will like this one:
Lindsey's having trouble with the home town folks:
Then there is this commentary:
Lindsey Graham Climate Dance with the Democrats - HUMAN EVENTS
And the key point is this. In 2008 Republicans chose a Republican candidate who was precisely the Republican that we were told would appeal to the middle. Right - he got none of it. Because when you offer up "Democrat-Lite", you end up with people voting for the Democrat instead.
By contrast, Reagan attracted the "middle" by setting out a clear, conservative message. Why did that work? Because MOST of the people in this country are conservatives. Why? Because this country was/is rooted in conservative ideaology. The Constitution IS a conservative document, it is NOT a liberal or socialist document. That's why liberals have to pack the courts with liberal judges, to get people in positions where they can change the meaning of the plain words of the Constitution.
Now these "in the middle" folks have been told by liberal propaganda that conservatives are BAD people, their racists, they hate old people, etc., etc., etc. Many, who have not looked into it or made up their minds for themselves, don't want to be labeled conservative. But that doesn't change the fact that they are instinctively conservative - which is understandable because it is in their American DNA.
You get the votes of those people when you offer a clear, simple conservative message versus the liberal double speak that is served up by most Democrats and wingnuts like Lindsey Graham and his friend John McCain.
