Um.... even some career agencies where you are on comission, you get paid w2.

There is no salary per say that I ran into, but for a new agent, they may qualify for financing.

Search for Metlife on this forum. They'll pay a salary after you do some production and the salary lasts for about 19 weeks.

Better than nothing, I suppose.

Anyone going into sales looking for a salary should take a very serious look at what they are considering. Not to sound rude, you could be great, but the success rate for an agent is very low to begin with. The people who survive are the ones who are motivated, dedicated and talented enough to work for themselves or at least for a commission check not a salary.

You could work for the gecko though, I know of order takers who work a crappy schedule and make $35k/year if that's what you want.

Other than temporary at the start (Metlife, Western Southern, American General, etc.) not for sales positions. If you are looking for an sales job with a salary in insurance you are looking in the wrong business. The good salesman don't want a salary because they make much much more on commission. If you aren't really good and want a salary then the insurance companies don't want you because they want someone who can produce.

It depends on what lines you want to offer. Companies like UHC and Aetna will hire sales reps on a captive agent agreement with full salary, benefits, expenses paid, etc. Companies aren't always hiring for those positions, but they do exist. Odds are you're better off going indy, but it's probably worth looking into.
