And if a cow isn't good for anything, what's the point of having polar bears. I bet they fart too.
The root of the problem is that humans need to thin their herd out considerably. We already have about three times the population that the planet can sustain.

We need more abortions, we need death panels that know when to shut people down, and forced sterilization.
What we need is to realize that there is NO SUCH THING as a perpetual motion machine. Every thing done on earth creates waste. Always has, always will. Remember the law of physics regarding every action causing an equal, but opposite, reaction? For those of you who are drinking the no- meat kool aid, ever boil a pot of cabbage in your home? Which smells worse-- the cow fart or the greens gas???

Says who? Care to site a resource for this conclusion.
Maybe the population will thin itself out if we stop worrying about H1N1 vaccines.
I plan to do my part, I will not be taking the shot.
Winter is correct on this. We passed sustainability years ago. The only thing keeping mass starvation away is artificial fertilizers and pesticides which are made entirely from petroleum.
When the price of oil takes off again, which it will have to do, then production of fertilizer and pesticide as well as the cost of transportation will start a disastrous chain reaction.
Erlich and the others were fundamentally correct in the 60s and 70s about the population disaster. They just did not factor in how fertilizer and pesticide would become cheap and widely available. That will change and the timetable will be alive once again. Nature will do the thinning on a massive scale.

Those who are rich in body weight (Michael Moore) should re-distribute some calories to those who do not have enough. You could carve a full buffet off his ass alone.
We may have too many people on this planet, but I still pass 4 McDonalds on the way to the office...as well as a Burger King, Wendy's, handful of Chinese places, etc...

"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it." Ronald Reagan
Just think if the healthcare bill passes, all sit-down type restaraunts will have to put nutrional information on their menus. We'll all get thin.
I don't think people realize how many calories are in a 18 oz prime rib, with a twice baked potato and salad dripping with bleu cheese dressing and a gigantic dinner roll. Once we have the nutrional information we'll all eat less.
We don't have enough information in our lives. IF the govenrment just gives us a lot more we'll all be much better eaters.
There just going to have to institute a junk food tax, like a tobacco tax, and jack the price of all food except lettuce. They'll have to jack water prices also, not for the water, but the plastic containers it comes in.

From the article you linked:
"I'd like to know what these puppies would taste like wrapped in bacon and then dropped in a deep fryer."
I've lived in Georgia all my life and I still think that sounds gross.

Okay since it is Halloween, one of the creepiest movies ever, but a very well-done Shakespeare, and makes sense in light of Charpress' comments:
