Aetna MAPD and AHIP Certification

It looks as though Aetna is requiring you to take the AHIP on their site BEFORE you take their recertification courses. They will reimburse($100 I think) all or a percentage if you do "X" number of deals with them but so what? We should be able to take their courses to recertify with them and get our AHIP anyway we please. Anyone know anything different?

No different than last year. Once you take AHIP (regardless of the way you take it) and pass, you should be able to send that to the other carriers. Again, no different than last year. It just looks as if you can't take Aetna's certification until you've completed the AHIP course. Once you show them you've passed AHIP, I'm willing to bet the next course on their site will be available.

Thank you. It was 4am when I read their email and went to their site but later thought of that. We can take the AHIP anywhere, the AHIP confirmation will show up on their site and we'll be able to take their courses. Good eye.
