Anyone Using Ritter's PDP Referral Program?

Hi,

I filled out the info on that page and never got contacted. Filled it out twice.

I should probably call the number on that page

If you call the # they'll add your name to the list to contact after everything is approved and ready to roll. That's why you haven't been contacted, they're waiting until it's ready.

All above is correct. One time fee, no renewal. That's a CMS thing. We're looking at the entire universe of PDP plans, not just the ones we represent. So, we're not going to get commission on 100%, whatever works for the client. We feel we have enough plans, though that we'll be able to enroll a very high percentage in plans we represent. The top plans cover 80%+ of the market. Renewals are only paid for agents who actually market the products (per CMS, MMG 120.4), so agents would need to contract, certify, re-certify, etc. Some agents don't want to go there, which is the whole point. Regulatory issue we're wrestling with is more on the state level than CMS. CMS addresses referral fees and excludes paying referral fees as a part of general compensation guidelines (licensed/appointed/certified), but some states (NY and others), it appears, will not allow a non-licensed and/or non-appointed entity to receive a referral fee based on enrollment. So, we're either (1) looking at other options in those states, (2) going to exclude those states or (3) going to handle all states the same, but not base referral fee on enrollment. PDP Sponsors who run referral programs will appoint the agent with a referral only contract, which by-passes this issue (since the agent is licensed and appointed with the insurance company conducting the enrollment activity). Obviously, we can't do that, so we're trying to find a work around! This will probably be tied up a few more weeks. Compliance and lawyers. . . Hope this explains the delay! Hoping to announce better news soon!

The referral program will be great when it is ready, I hope.

I would bet that a lot of agents would refer the PDP headaches (I mean "reviews") to Ritter even if there is a $0 commission/referral fee.

Giving our clients a trusted place to call and saving all of that time? Especially now if we need a SOA when there is no f2f...

On second thought, some of us might even be willing to PAY Ritter to do the reviews and handle the apps and questions (not that I'm volunteering).

Of course, under the assumption that Ritter wouldn't solicit the med Supp business, which I'm sure your agency would not.

They must have worked out the details... looks like the program is up and running...

$10 per referral regardless of a sale. Huge time saver!

Yep, I'm filling out the paperwork now. It'll save a lot of time, not only in running comparisons, but also in certifications.

I guess my question is, lets say you have a prospect on the phone that you just sold a supplement to and now they need a drug plan, how do they connect with Ritter? Can we live transfer them right there on the spot? I couldn't seem to get a clear answer on this..

I think you'll just give them a phone number and your agent number and say: "Call them and give them this # - we've partnered with this company that does Rx plans exclusively."

I just got off the phone with Kendra at Ritter. She said the client makes the contact. You can do a 3 way on the phone or be there f2f. Ritter provides you with referral cards that have your agent I.D. on them to leave with the client. They're limiting the # of agents at first. If it gets too crazy they have the ability to "staff up".

She sent me the information today to sign up. She told me everything said previously. You get cards with your agent #. You pass the cards out. The client gives that number when that call in. You get $10 for each enrollment. At first I heard $25 but she said it's $10.
