I have a few rural Humana PPO members and am concerned that the new UHC-CIP with $0 premium is going to romp all over the Humana PPO. Humana PPO currently has a $49/month premium whereas the UHC-CIP combo will have $0/month. Does the CIP model have any challenges? As with any plan, I suppose that the provider could refuse to take it at any time. That's at least one that I can think of.

personally, i would expect it to romp all over the humana PPO. when I write them in SC, I really haven't had any issues, except can think of one instance where there weren't any local respiratory specialists that would file CIP, even though it had a Open Access network.

but when you compare benefits to premiums, unless you have ton of LIS on the $49/ppo making it only $16 or so, yeah, I'd expect a lot to fall off the books.

your selling point on humana is the rightsource zero premium generics. that's the main way I've sold LIS people onto the Humana product
