Central States Indemnity

I'm not appointed with them (and should probably keep my mouth shut) but they have been discussed in a couple threads here. From that I got the impression they will decline due to a hangnail.

I've had quite a few apps declined by them, I screen heavily and almost never get declines with any other company. They are a pain to work with, unless you're sending open enrollment business.

CSI is an AIMC company, which is it's own issue alone.

The biggest issue is, the huge disconnect between what their application and underwriting guide says and what they actually decline for. They decline for a lot more then what you're given as an agent.

The other issue is, if there's a problem in underwriting or something with any normal company, you just pick up the phone and get it straightened out. Not with CSI, they absolutely will not discuss anything to do with underwriting with an agent, or even the insured. If they decline, they will snail mail the insured a reason, and that is the end of it.
