Great information, really helpful! It seems that the plan is to avoid Medicaid, as they say on Facebook, "it's complicated". Even so, it does seem that original Medicare + PDP is going to be best. Once client is admitted to the custodial care part of the (also) SNF, SEP will allow the switch, or the timing may be in line with AEP or ADP.
Will see about talking to staff at NH. Interesting, hadn't occurred to me that if patient goes to full 100 days, the MOOP would kick in. This year, the MOOP on the HMO is $3,400.
