Good Med Supp Companies in Ohio

USAA is number 1, Medical Mutual is number 2, United Healthcare is 3, 4th can be between Forethought (who had a 0% rate increase yesterday for plan G, 5% for plan F), Stonebridge, Cigna, and State Farm.

Medical Mutual is coming out with an MA plan that should be very competitive, but Aetna, Humana and Anthem are great choices for Medicare Advantage.
Aetna has a very low MOOP, Humana is one of the few with a $0 per month premium after Anthem hiked up their monthly premiums...

We are an independent agency in Ohio that has only written P&C and life. We want to start offering med supps and advantage plans. Any suggestions for good companies in Ohio to get appointed with? What is the usual commission structure? How long does it take to get appointed?

Carrier products do have different attributes, so what is "good" depends on what is best for your client. You have received good information here. For Medicare supplement, one carrier not mentioned that I like is Central States Indemnity (A+ rated Berkshire Hathaway company). Many positive attributes, most notably a commitment to rate stability with sound underwriting practices, something clients appreciate over time. Call me if you want to discuss.
