Before I hit the button and pay $175.00 for AHIP, is that something the agent usually pays for or do carriers offer the training as part of contracting with them?

You pay for it, but can often get discounts by going through a carrier

Humana for example, only charges $125. And will pay you the $125 back after you produce 10 pieces of business for them

Typically this happens after you have already contracted and sold prior years.

I am referring to the initial discount. I know they give you the money in the back end, but I have not seen a brand new agent sign up who got the initial discount to $125, at least after they released it. I might be wrong however.
