Medicare Training Recommendations.......

Who would you most recommend that I contact for medicare training, both products and sales? I have seen very favorable posts recommending Daytona and Green Sky, but are there others that I should review? I would like to learn all that I can regarding supplements, advantage, and prescription coverage. If I go this route, I would eventually look at FE cross sells, too. My experience to this point has been P/C, pivoting to life afterwards, but not the seniors' market. Thank you for any advice.

I would recommend MedicareTraining101.com and also getting with an IMO that can help you along the way as well.

The very first place you want to start is at Medicare.gov. Download the Medicare & You Handbook and also The Guide to Health Insurance for People on Medicare (It's something like that anyway).

If you've already learned everything on Medicare 101 and Daytona's Medicare training site, plus the Medicare.gov books like Todd mentioned, I think you can quit looking for more schooling. You are ready to get your feet wet.

This is good advice. The first logical step is to get familiar with what every senior is already sent - the Medicare & You Guidebook.

I'm always surprised when agents have not even seen the basic material before trying to get started helping seniors with these choices.

You already have the best referral, Daytona Guy. And immerse yourself in his training. And then practice, practice, practice. You will do well and not be overloaded!

Interesting question?....because the original poster mentioned cross-selling with Final Expense, I'm wondering why nobody recommended either Todd King or 360 Financial?
Both those company websites offer medicare supplemental as well as final expense.

I'm interested in the same subject now because I originally planned to do final expense only, but am now considering Medicare Supplements as well.

Todd King posted earlier but recommended someone else, Todd if you are reading, is there a reason for not recommending yourself for Med Supps?

Anyone else who has knowledge of the subject, do you know if Todd King, or 360 Financial are not primarily focused on Med Supps. and therefore not a good choice for both final expense and med supps? or was it just a coincidence that either company were not recommended by anyone?

Would you recommend either Todd King or 360 Financial now that they have been mentioned or are the other organizations better?

I second Chris (daytona), Rick (greensky) and Todd King. All are very knowledgeable and great people. I don't know 360 financial, so I can not say one way or another with them, but I would suggest checking them out since they were recommended.

I have been working on training programs for Senior Marketing Specialists. You can view their training materials for free at sms-university.com. The site is open access, so you do not have to register to view / download any info. There is a white paper that is an agent walk through the Medicare & You book on the site as well.

If an agent just wants to cross sell from FE then Med Sups should be all you tackle at least in the beginning. If you are mainly selling Medicare and FE is the added sale, you will need Med a Sups and Med Advantage.

Any FE focused IMO can teach you Med Sups and cross selling. If you want Medicare advantage, Todd would be a good one to go with. I'm not even sure Chris Westfall messes with Med Advantage.

But Chris Westfall is the best trainer for all things Medicare and the Medicare 101 website is good too.

Once you've graduated from the kiddie material, then search CMS.gov for the real manuals -- marketing guidelines, enrollment guidelines, etc.
