It will be interesting to see what Med Supp, MAPD and PDP carriers ask for on applications. Will it now be the new "identifier"?

This is going to be fun.

The reasoning is sound. The change will take some getting used to though.

Please call it by the correct name of the Affordable Care Act. That's what Obama prefers it be called now that it's proven to be such a f*cking disaster.

I wonder what will happen to those seniors who can't find their cards. Currently, I have only ONE MA carrier who will verify Medicare eligibility for me. Even so, they have gotten extremely picky by demanding to speak with the beneficiary before eligibility is given. I wonder if more companies would step it up to provide those services for us out in the field.

Things are hardly what they appear to be. There is an ulterior motive to this, and it is not your identity protection.

It would help alot if when this gets implemented they still allow clients/agents to look up their Medicare status on the Medicare.gov website using their S.S. number and Part A & B effective dates and then show their new Medicare number once we put in all that information. That way if we are with a client we can always double check the correct number we should use on an application.
