Pros and Cons of FMO's?

My experience is some FMO/IMO are good and some not so much.

I would suggest you learn this business inside and out and how to make it on your own totally, before ever recruiting any other agents. There are pros and cons to recruiting. It ain't all roses, though many spell it out to be.

Plus, why would someone want to work under you... and make less than they deserve (or can get by not working under you) ? What do you have to provide to the downline that is of value to them, to justify them taking a pay hit?

IMO, if you choose the recruiting route, it might be best to go with a company that has that model in place, with structured overrides, bumps in commission, etc. Not my cup of tea, but many like it.

Not licensed, take tje following accordingly.

i have been looking on the forums for 4-5 months, thinking about ins, license, and how I might approach the business if I wanted to do it.

G, K, S and V represent 4 Med supp models to me. Medsupps with S' business model was starting to seem like the way I would be most likely to succeed.

IMO/FMO, whichever is the more appropriate, was something of a challenge because I can be stubborn and independent. I decided those attitudes were likely to work to my disadvantage. i think it may be possible to find a thread where someone complains about almost every imo/fmo that another person would recommend.

Given that, my geographic location and the amount of support and training I suspected I would need, I was starting to focus on Senior Marketing Specialists as the imo/fmo that would likely work well for me. There is a concern with that choice and there are some other options, but until/unless I have a license in hand, that is my starting point to compare to and reassess from.

What's your concern with the Missouri SMS LD?:err:

Releases.
I just have a note in my notebook for them "releases questioned".

Problem - I did not write down the specific thread and I can't come up with the search parameters to get it again.

Best I remember is a bit of a wrangle between MidwestBroker and another poster; in whcuh MidWestBroker defended SMS' procedures as reasonable business practices and the other poster said a prostective SMS agent should carefully read SMS' release policies.

(again sorry about all the typo stuff-this splint is quite frustrating.)

Since I don't have a license, I decided further effort on that right now was not useful, but planned on doing some further review when/if I had a license. One named agentpitstop came up in a thread and I thought I could run the characteristics of the two together for comparison.

My thoght with SMS was that my training and support needs would probably outweigh any release restriction issues and I could go one year for training education experience and then do a further reassessment in year two and phase in changes if necessary.

(And for the benefit of any of my "fan club" being tempted to take "pixel in hand" please note this is not something I am saying everyone should do. It is only what I believe appropriate for me to have the best chance to succeed.)

I only have a couple of contracts with SMS Missouri , and don't think I even asked about releases. The companies I have with them weren't available through Senior Market Design(who does give open releases, as they've said so on the Forum and on their website), but if I couldn't get a release I have plenty of other companies, so I could wait 6 months to get a release.

I will say that for a new agent that needs learnin' SMS Missouri probably has more training material on their website than any other FMO...or paid training site.

Recommendations of a "g" and a "v" in other threads, geographic location, training materials, annual conference, weekly newsletters, I think a weekly training call -- are all things that made it look like this would be a good choice for me if I got a license and wanted to focus on med supps.

There is another one in KC that I think should be considered if one was going to do FE. I don't know how the two of them compare for medsupps.

Who's in KC? :err:

Kuhn123-Cant remeber the company name and its hard for me to hunt up because Avast blocks their website.

forum posts suggest to me that he would be very good for ride along fe training.

6 months ago I'd have said you couldn't do it, but I think y'all have finally started to grpss me out with the cockroach/grape jelly/cat piss adornments to the application forms. However if I did cjoose that route, I think the KC organization would be a good choice.

The Chiefs and the Royals

vacations to visit my grandfathers house. The library door would close when the Athletics games came on. No little kids until the game was over.

That's Pacesetter. He has a great reputation for FE. For Med Supps, I'd go SMS.
