I have seen Plan K mentioned as a non-starter here, but I am seeing some possible areas of use as an alternate to MAPD's in areas where docs are dropping out of network. The ability to go to any Medicare doc is very appealing to some.

Client may be able to get Plan K through UHC, then, if passes UHC underwriting, do PDP. Need to confirm premium.

If both together at or just under $100/month, this prospect may be able to make it work. I see the MOOP and some cost sharing are better than MAPD PPO, even if, compared to other Supps they are large. MAPD PPO/$6,700 OOP or $10K for OON providers, Plan K, approx $4900.

Motivation is specialist may drop MAPD, would like to let go of network vs non-network issues.

I have one other client with Plan K, likes UHC due to ability to switch plans with phone call if concerned about OOP issues.

I can see plan K becoming more popular as Medicare Advantage becomes less desirable in the future. the only thing that scares me is that plan k is easily bashed and another agent could come behind me and churn the business

I checked some rates here and (at least under age 70) K is priced within a few dollars of Hi F and about $35 less than N.

I sell N against Hi F so selling it over K would be easy.

I sold one plan K, at the members request. 1 year later she was screaming to get off that plan. She said she had multiple bill just rolling in one after another. I put her on Humana HMO gold plus and she's been happy ever since

I would highly recommend a N over K
