Would you put New Era in your bag, knowing they have only been in Pa. since "09", have a Bt rating and are usually $20 to $50 cheaper per month than some of the more reputable Med Supp carriers?

Yes. They are issuing the business and paying claims. That's the critical point. I am hiring for them and have had no complaints to this point and quite a bit of positive feedback.

Actually, Medigap is regulated at the state level by the DOI. CMS and Uncle Sam don't have anything to do with the plans outside of defining plan benefits.

Yep. B+ and that much cheaper.

The only other thing I check on every carrier is the complaint ratio for other states they have been in for a while. Not reading the actual complaints, but most states publish a ratio of complaints vs. premiums on the book and assign a value. In MO 100 is considered average... under that they are great... over that they suck.

Don't matter. Most things that you could/would get a suit filed against you for in regards to health insurance won't get picked up by E/O.
