Retiree Group Medicare Advantage Opportunities?

Just wanted to throw this out there for any agents who have contacts with Employer Groups which still offer coverage to their retirees. Mainly, this would apply to Municipalities or other Government entities who have the funding to pay for their retirees health care (cities, counties and in some cases, school districts), or Unions who have contractual agreements to fund Retiree Health Care.

I've been hearing that many of these groups are either: (1) experiencing large rate increases or will soon or (2) have a Group PFFS plan which is going out.

We are currently working on 4 cases: 3 counties governments and 1 city retiree group with 100 to 400 retirees each. One got a big increase, 2 are losing their PFFS plan and 1 is self-funded. I tend to think there might be many more groups out there who don't have a clue where to go and will either (1) self-fund or (2) eat a large increase.

If you have a contact or an "in", it might be worth a phone call or inquiry to see if they'd like to see another quote on their retirees' Health Insurance. Since many of these groups are 1/1 effectives, now is the time to be asking this question.

Just a thought!
