SSDI Issued by Judge 4 Years Retroactive

I'm hopeful some experts on the forum can assist.

My client applied for SSDI initially in 2010. On April 4, 2014 (yes 2014) the judge awarded her SSDI retroactively to November of 2010. This triggered Medicare Part A and B that became effective in November of 2012.

She is apx 63 and resides in CO.

The issue is her eligibility for Medigap supplements. Based on my conversations with Medicare and Cigna/ARLIC it does not appear she is eligible for a GI plan but would have to go through medical u/w. Anyone have experience with this type of situation?

Also, how would this affect her Part D eligibility?

Thanks... Chris

For a disability Medicare supp, and, Medicare Part D, you would use the currently dated "Notice of Award" letter rec'd from Social Security.
