Most of the privileged few worked their behinds off their entire lives to get whatever they have. In the course of becoming privileged, they have employed hundreds and contributed huge amounts to local civic activities. Of course, those are just the folks I know. I don't know Ted Kennedy and other flaming hypocrites who had daddy's trust grandfathered in by crooked lawmakers.
I'm about ready to agree that "spread the wealth" is the real meaning of "a change you can believe in" --hell, I'm a believer. I believe that is the way this country is going. And when it happens, we can all shut down and turn out the lights. Obama is just going to speed the process up a bit.

If you have to work to make your wealth, then you are not one of the 'privileged few.'
Oddly enough, the only picture that didn't make sense (in context) was the one with stupid Paris Hilton. The fact that this crazy entertainment-driven society of ours pays her to be who she is through media appearances, tv shows and the like, is just beyond the pale. Why is it that we glamorize these idiots?
Now, if we're talking about adding taxes, I suggest we add a "stupid and annoying" tax for "entertainers" who simply make too freaking much money being them. We can start with Paris Hilton and work our way over to the sports industry - David and Victoria Beckham, anyone?
The media is still tearing the guy apart. They were even looking into his divorce records. They were also saying McCain should have vetted him. The guy asked a question that caused Obama to make a gaffe and reveal his inner socialist.
Then both Obama & Biden were attacking Joe the Plumber in their stump speeches today saying how many plumbers earn $250,000.
It is simple, if he were to get his license and buy the business, he could hire another couple of plumbers and easily be in that tax bracket.
Though with this publicity...I am sure he could gather a few investors together and hire 10 or 12 plumbers. Hell, he can start selling T-shirts and make a quick 1/4 million.
What bluff...he asked a question? He was hoping to buy a small business that he works for.
And for a guy with more balls than brains, me certainly made Obama look like a fool. Obama made a major gaffe. He is supposed to keep his socialist tendencies hidden until election day.
He could have talked about his tax credits for hiring new people, SBA loans that would help him buy it sooner, or that only the money over $250 would be taxed at the higher rate. Obama didn't do either of those which never would have made it to the news. Instead he talked of spreading the wealth around and came across as a socialist to a middle class blue collar worker.
Now he and Biden are now running are letting loose personal attacks against a freaking plumber during stump speeches and interviews!!! Not exactly very presidential...especially when the polls are tightening.

Well, the other thing too, the guy was really very polite when he was speaking with Obama. Sometimes you get these hotheads in either party who get suped up in their minds and drive two states over to an event to see if they can get in the face of a candidate. Sometimes that type of character gets caught up in the media because that is what they want but I think this plumber guy was just sort of in his own neighborhood and Obama showed up and he asked him a question. It is not as though the plumber is with MNBC or something. Doesn't he get to ask questions or is he supposed to just stand there and let a chill run up his leg when the messiah goes by blessing the crowds.
Too bad he didnt just do something harmless like bomb the U.S. Capitol so that the media would have just ignored him.
