So I got a call from a 260 area code number today (thought about just not answering it at all) and thought, what the hell, I might as well just find out who's calling. Bad decision.

I've got some guy on the phone who comes across as a real piece of work right off the bat, making every effort to control the call by being a genuine asshole. Okay, this could be entertaining, right? No.

After asking him what it was about and getting a couple of snotty little comments, this guy finally tells me what the hell he's calling about. He's telling me he has a group in Memphis that has a lot of sales leads that they supposedly "can't get to" and wants to bring together a group of people in my area to handle those deals. Then he asks, "So, have I stepped on any landmines yet?"

"Sure," I said. "Let me get this straight. You want me to work leads that some company in Memphis can't handle? And I suppose I'm supposed to pay for this?"

He says, "Well, sir, obviously your listening skills need a lot of work..." and starts going on with his little pitch.

"Stop," I tell him, "I'm not about to continue listening to a guy representing a company I've never heard of before who thinks he can call me up out of the blue and insult me. I heard you fine, asshole!"

Then he proceeds to try to end the call before I hung up on him. What an ass... thanks for wasting my time.

Anyways, I guess I'm wondering who has been in contact with such a company and what they know about it. I looked it up on google: Welcome to SRS Marketing

Apparently they're based out of NY and PA, so I get the abusive attitude, but it was a bit over the top for me. I still have no clue what they're trying to get me to buy from them, as I can smell a sales call from the moment I answer.

Thoughts? Anyone?
