If you were, you wouldn't be so defensive. Supposedly no one's competing with your orphans, so get the stick out of your @ss.
If you're doing "fine without his pitch", then why are you asking him what he says to them? Sounds like you were interested in what he says to them until he told you that he's not going to share his entire routine with you. You should learn to be polite to folks and not be so nasty.
Re: Success As a Newbie in First Couple of MonthsGo to Top
I wasn't being nasty. I DO like to hear what other people are doing since you never know what nugget of info you'll get. Maybe I took it wrong, but I felt that his response was rude and condescending. If it wasn't, I apologize for the bluntness. I just thought this was a forum for sharing and helping, not just saying "my dude you want my whole sales pitch...Get your own ...."

anthonyxm,
You understood the concept perfectly, i don't understand why briko couldn't get it, it's a simple concept.
It's very easy to get appointments with policy owners because they want to see us.

Somarco,
Call me insecure that's fine w/ me.
The fact of the matter is, i am still insecure and lacking confidence
I know it will not happen over night, but for now im happy and satisfied w/ my success.
I also apologize to briko if i was rude or condescending
Re: Success As a Newbie in First Couple of MonthsGo to Top
No problem at all. I actually do get that it's easy to meet with orphan policy holders. I've done that many times myself. What's not as easy is getting them to buy MORE insurance so you can actually make some money. (I also understand that not everyone needs more) I was just asking if there was something you were saying to get more of them to increase the amount, or if it was something they wanted from the begininning. If you are insecure and lacking confidence (which is normal when first starting out) then I would think you'd be happy to share what you do...partly to help others, and partly so that some veterans here can give pointers if there's something that can be done better.
Thanks for the apology, and even thought you specifically didn't say you were offended by my comment...if you were, I apologize as well.
- Chris

Don't get happy, get hungry or "thirsty" lol. When I was a sales manager, whenever a new rep had a good week, there was a guaranteed drop in their paycheck the following week, like clockwork. The key is to stay consistent.

Hi,
I too work for Mutual of Omah as a career agent and I'm been fairly successful as well. The orphans are great for Policy reviews which we should try to do atleast 2-3 per week. With a mix of purchased leads and referrals we should be able to keep activity going consistently. Hopefully you're doing all of these things to grow your business. I am a Mutual of Omaha fan and the one thing I would say to you is to simple stay and watch your renewals grow.

I don't know if this is true or not, but my manager said we have the highest paid renewal rates in the industry
He said about 6 or 7 percent.
He also said that if we wrote 100 policys the first year we should see around an 8k or 10k base renewals for second year.
Has your manager said something similar?

And this veteran agent who's been there for 8 years
Has been making 120k base of renewals and they keep growing evrey year. it's crazy
She only has to write 22k/year to get enhanced renewals
So she works for 2 months out of the year and thats it
