I am an independent insurance agent, which by the way this forum helped me a lot when I was getting started a year ago. I was recommended to go through Superior Access insurance, because I am still kind of new it is still hard to get appointments with some companys, I am renewing my e&o with higher limits which should help, but does anybody know how Superior access work, I know they charge a fee, is it worth it? I know I had seen a thread about Superior , but I can't find it, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
They are for P&C. For some of the companies they represent, you can get an immedaite quote, but for many of the companies they represent, you must fill out an ACORD app, and then wait 24 to 48 hours for the quote.

As a client, I'm not waiting 24 to 48 hours for a quote. I will just hang up and call another agent or company.

The waiting period is not always a deterrent. With the preferred market, I have found that responding to a prosect with "I represent several carriers and would like to spend time getting the home work done to make sure that we are giving you the best options. Can I call you back later tomorrow, after we have this done?'" This usually is acceptable.
Those people that call and need a quote right now, are usually shopping for price and price only.
If you win their business because of price and price only - you will lose their business because of price and price only.

How long does is take on avg to call the client back with a quote on car insurance?

I'm not sure if I understand the specific question you're asking. I can call someone back within seconds, verify the information that I need for the most accurate quote, then receive the quotes back from the carriers within, say, 85 seconds, of submitting the information to the carriers, when I use a comparative rater. I agree that, unless the person waited until the very last minute to buy, they can wait for the rates. You've got people "shopping" and their policy doesn't renew for 6 or 9 months, but something triggered them to go online or pick up the phone and start requesting quotes. Getting a monthly or quarterly bill, having filed a claim, anything. However, if they are searching at the last minute, they have either let their policy lapse, just been involved in an accident and don't have current insurance, just bought another house or car (or will soon buy one), or are, generally, not a preferred risk.

I was addressing it to another post on this thread.

On this thread I've read call you back tomorrow and some car insurance companies take 24 to 48 hours.
Sclady, this is what my question was addressing.
I don't sell car insurance, so it's not my market. I don't mean to offend anyone. I'm just thinking as an client. I know you all have your reasons.
But I thought that most car insurance clients are in fact price shopping. I just don't see myself waiting 24 to 48 hours to get a car insurance quote or the next day. I went to a website to get an instant quote on car insurance, and after I found out they were going to email it to me with 2 days, I just went somewhere else and bought it.
I know there are different types of clients. I know it harder to make the price shoppers happy. I know it takes time to find the best company, like it does in life insurance. But there is a line to where the wait is too long. So my question is, what is the longest the time should take. 48 hours is way too long. What do you agents think is way too long to wait.
Sclady, I know that you can give me a quote fast in car insurance. I know that other agents may take longer. I'm just was shocked as an client when I saw it could take up to 48 hours to get a quote, or the next day.
In life insurance, my market, I don't want to give them an instant quote, and need to pick what is best for them and everything. I just thought it was faster with car insurance. I had my quote in 10 mins and I bought it.
My brain does not know much about p and c insurance and I'm always want to learn more.
No problem. I just wasn't sure if my response was going to address your question. I can people back immediately. then, during the conversation, you find out that, this is their seasonal property, and their primary home is in another state - or another country - and they're having a difficult time getting coverage. Or, they own 15 rental properties, and they don't want a commercial policy to cover them. Or, they have expensive cars that "regular" auto insurance companies won't touch. Or, they want to keep their auto, home, umbrella, 3 rentals, 2 seasonals, and schedule personal proerty with the same carrier - if possible, but if it makes sense to break it up, they will do that. But, it's not like they aren't calling you back immediately, they have already spoken to you, collected additional information, and then tell you that, with the complexity of what you're looking for, it will take longer. For example, I can get a home quote just as quickly as I can get an auto quote, but if this home is a rental, that is automatically a manual quote - with a bunch of different carriers, if you're shopping around. There are certain situations that warrant taking a little longer.
Also, I used to work for the largest online insurance agency. I also used to work for the company that we all came from prior to that online insurance agency starting up. We're experts at providing multiple quotes in one phone call. We invented that. However, you'd be surprised at home many people shop online, want instant quotes, and put in completely inaccurate information. For example, they'll only include themselves, and not their spouse, on the quote. Let's say they buy the policy because the price is right. They haven't spoken to an agent. The insurance company is going to add the spouse and anyone else who shows up as a household member - after the policy is purchased. So, while the customer is looking for the fastest quote, he just bought a policy where the premium is going to change substantially after the purchase. So, while he was looking for a quick purchase, he wasn't expecting the premium increase.
Some shoppers want to do it without speaking to an agent, while others NEED to speak to an agent and move a little more slowly. I have people all the time who say that my rate is 1/2 of what they're currently paying. All kinds of flags go off in my head when they say that. I ask for their driver license # to verify their 1 speeding ticket, for example. Once ordering th reports, I get 3 or 4 declines from the carriers, or the rate increases to more than what they're currently paying.
When you received the message about 2 days, that leads me to believe that you were completing an app for either a single insurance company that doesn't provide immediate rates or you were completing an application on NetQuote, InsureMe, etc.

That company invented providing multiple quotes in one phone call? Have they met Al Gore?

Half the people you know are below average.
Most, and notice I say most, commercial customers shop a month or more out before renewal. Commercial can be made up of several different components and sometimes it can take more than 24 hours. A standard BOP usually doesn't take too long. Where it may cost you a client is when someone needs it right now but as a general rule most owners like to have something in place days if not weeks prior to renewal so most of the time you should have a little time. Business owners know if you shop several carriers it can take a few days if not a week to get the quote. If an underwriter is really swamped they may even tell you they can't get to it if you expect it back in 24 hours. Just my observation.

What type of carriers are you wishing to appoint with?
