Bought one a couple years ago. Can only work with windows xp. I have to keep an old laptop with windows XP just to use it. Served well over the years away from that setback.

Anyone else use this or have an alternative?

I have 4 four drawer file cabinets fill with files I would like to start to slowly convert to digital and scan file going forward.

Says that Acrobat X is standard. Thoughts?

Absolutely love this scanner. It's well worth the price. The speed of it and it's ability to scan both sides is nice. I scanned all my info into my laptop in a very short time. Highly recommended.

Scan Snaps are great, being able to scan both sides on a single pass, to a searchable PDF at high speed is fantastic.

I love the ScanSnap. I can't speak for the value of that particular model (make sure it works with your preferred OS) but scanning everything will change your life. The thing that really blew my mind was when I started combining the ScanSnap with Evernote. I automatically send by scans to Evernote, which runs Optical Character Recognition on the server side (instead of using Acrobat X to run in locally) and it archives everything on the cloud and makes it easy for me to search and tag and organize everything. If I'm on the road, I can use the Evernote iOS app to search the entire archive.

Greatest thing since sliced bread. I create PDF's and also scan to evernote. Well worth the price
