Tennessee BCBS Question ?

Hi, does anyone know if BCBS of TN uses a General Agent system or an individual broker system to sell their products? Thanks

Both is the short answer. You can go direct or you can work with a GA. The GA's offer higher commissions. PM if you need details.

They do both - but they're also the highest priced plan across the state by far. (thanks to TNCare)

For GA's - look up First Mutual Insurance Group out of Murfreesburo or Individual Health Specialists out of Brentwood / Franklin

Sorry, but that is incorrect. In some cases they are the most competitive priced product.

- but we must be looking in completely separate markets?

UHC, Humana and AmCom generally pop up around 20% lower than BCBS in Central TN.

My market is middle tn around Nashville and for many healthy NS, BC is usually always competitive.

I would recommend IHS of TN. This is under James Walker, who I have always found to be a very stand up guy.

Jeff Dempsey and Dorothy Mahler are the ones you would work with the most.

They are one of 3 GA's in Tennessee that have contracts with the blues.
