My guess is that like all things, it's all "local." Last MA season I went to a group recruiting session in my locality held by a UIG office. I won't comment because I don't want to be sued... but when it was over I ran out of there as fast and as far as I could.

YMMV.

I think these guys are headquartered in Miford, MI. I live nearby. Could you elaborate on why you ran out? I'd rather not waste my time if it's a joke.

What are you seeking from them - meaning - captive or indy side?

I was just thinking of a way to enter the senior market field. I think they are captive, though

I know a lot of agents who like and dislike this house. It's a matter of relationship blocks like anything. I personally like this house. I have to get on some of the girls at times to help me, but certain people know me there and when I can get them on the phone, they are very instrumental to my needs.

I am indy; I cannot speak of the captive side. Sorry.

I've worked with them for many years. They're a pretty good group. I'm independent also. You might want to see what they offer you by going captive, if you're really new it might be worth the lower commissions to start...just to get the training, leads, etc. Maybe later on go independent

Does anyone know if United Insurance Group is a good company to work with? I've been getting emails from them about opportunities with them as a "medicare enroller". I'd appreciate any insights you could give me.

Thanks,
Mark

Never heard of them, but if the phrase "medicare enroller" was used in their literature,

Just in case you don't get it, medicare enroller is a deceiving phrase. You are an INSURANCE AGENT.

Me either.

I agree, "Medicare enroller" is very deceiving. Only Social Security can enroll someone in Medicare.

I would stay far away from them. Who knows what else they are going to try to deceive agents about.

The first question you should ask if you do contact them is who writes your commission checks. If they do run like hell.

They're out of Michigan, they're a good group. I've worked with them for over a decade and never had any problems. They have a captive side which I don't know anything about and they have an independent side. That's what I went through. I've never heard them use this term "medicare enroller" before and I get emails from them alot. The emails are letting me know about new companies that are coming into Michigan, trips, etc.

This concerns me... I've had way too many experiences were the captive side runs with my client's name and the firewall gets blurred.

I'm not saying this is the case with UIG. I just have had my fill of this and I refuse to sign with an FMO, or a carrier, who works my clients! And I'm not talking about cross selling, I'm talking about replacements.

Re: United Insurance Group             Go to Top

I don't have any knowledge of them having their captive agents replacing my policies. I have a lot of clients so who knows...I'm just letting you know my experience with them has been good.
