Anyone know of a second tier carrier that would write a 47 male smoker who has pancreatitis? I am only appointed with carriers that will decline. The guy is on Cobra, paying $414 a month and can keep it for a few more months only. Here in SC, we have a health pool, but it is VERY expensive. Anyone know of a carrier that would provide him decent coverage, maybe rider off that condition? I am guessing no, but figured it was worth asking. Thanks, chp

Doubtful that any quality company will pick him up. Assurant who is most lenient on u/w lists it as a flat out decline.

His best options are: Another job with coverage for he or spouse , or the health pool. Wish there was better news.

Yea, that is what I thought. I will have to refer him to the SC Health Pool. The rates are so outrageous, but there is no other choice!

He is still smoking with chronic Pancreatitis? Wow. That is not helping his situation. His COBRA is cheap too bad it is running out.

Pool or another group plan as previously suggested.

UA will take him with a single occurance only and cannot be alcohol related. The main plan covers up to 4k per day inpatient hospital, 10k on surgery -it's got it limitations, however this condition is a tough one to cover.

About $300/per month with their best plan.
