Underwriting

I haven't posted in awhile. I was active when i was looking at starting a career as an agent. I have obtained my P&C and my Life/Heath/Vaiable Products/Annuities licenses.

I am not currently not working in insurance. I was about to make the jump, but learned that my hire date fell just beofre they changed the amount of time I needed to vest at my current job. I decided to wait before making any career changes sinceI only needed a little over 2 years to get a ittle less than half of my pension and 50% of my healthcare paid.

In the meantime, I am finishing up a degree in accounting. Since then I have become very interested in underwriting and possibly becoming an actuary for an insurance company. Does anyone know any good web sites or forums to explore these careers?

There are OH domiciled companies, at least for life & health. Make contact with someone at those companies that work in underwriting or rate making. Get their inside scoop on that profession.
