United of Omaha-Commissions             Go to Top

I noticed my commissions seemed off with United of Omaha. I get 21% and 12 months advancing. For example a Plan F that runs $1,000 annually I would substract the $135 Part B deductible because that's not commissionable and my commission should look like this....

$1000 - $135 = $ 865 x 21% = $ 181.65

United of Omaha is subtracting $200 instead of $135, so this is what my commission looks like......

$1000 - $200 = $ 800 x 21% = $ 168.00

I know it doesn't seem like a whole lot, but over time that can add up, plus I'm already getting a much lower commission than the other companies are paying, but they have the best premium in some areas of my state.

When I called them and asked them about this, they said they were deducting $200 instead of $135 because of administration fees, paperwork, etc. They did say they are changing this retroactive and will deduct $150 from the premium instead of $200 and they will sometime this year send the difference out to me. Has anyone heard of a company doing this?

Just another example of how they treat their agents. Why should we have to pay those fees?

Actually they are going to adjust the backout and reimburse the agents on any monies lost.

United World does it already (but it's $150 not $200). It's my understanding that it's just for Plan F. United of Omaha isn't in Georgia yet. I would assume that when they get here, it would be the same seeing that they have the same parent company.
