Thanks for your input I am glad someone is straight forward. All I have been wanting is honest answers. You do hear lots of bad but nobody will tell you the specifics of the good. This is just a serious time in my life and I just need some honesty and good advice. Thanks

Not trying to offend anyone, just when I ask a question I am trying to get to the answer.Especially if your new and keep getting burned you would like the help of the veterans as to save time and money.
I am sorry if I offended any one, I do appreciate all the posts and info we can all share.

My situation is very similar to jskin except I'm in Florida. I've been in the P&C businss years ago but now have my FL L/H/VA. I've been to Equita's MP training class but have not taken leads or been set up with them. Reading all the posts I've read on this forum makes me unsure which way to go. BUT I agree with the previous poster(s) regarding pride of company, product etc. It has to be ethical $$$ or no $$$. I'm open to advice.
I don't know about Ralph and Equita, but I would double check
Everybody that runs an ad on CRAIGSLIST, especially ads that reply to a google mail address. While I'm sure there's a lit of legitimate postings, there are a lot of scammers and phishers looking to steal personal information. So you need to thoroughly vet these people before you send them your personal info.

Good suggestion. Some don't even have a Google or Yahoo address, only the anonymous one provided by Craig's List.
I figure that some ads are legitimate, but those without any contact information bother me.
We're not supposed to use this site for advertising our business so that is why you will find a lot of people don't want to just outright give you advice as to where to go. A lot of us have posted websites, emails, and phone numbers.

I was only responding to the comment about Craig's List. People have blind ads and then ask you to respond with personal information. I notice that people place the same ad in multiple cities and states, although it doesn't mean the ad is fraudulent, but it indicates to me it's MLM. I once got together with an agent with NAA who had no insurance experience, but decided to make money by recruiting. So he placed ads all over the country and figured he could make a good living if enough people signed up under him. He was a very nice guy, so I'm not saying he was dishonest but, to me, that isn't the way to run your business.

If you're looking on Craigslist and the ad does not at least give you the name of the company they are hiring for, or, like it was stated earlier, they use a free e-mail address, then I would have serious reservations about replying or doing business with them. If you're afraid that your company name will bring disdain to your ad then what are you doing working for them?
Both my partner and I have worked for years in the mortgage protection market. Which is a great market. No complaints. I've done very well there. I left NAA because it became way too MLM. As a manager I've been on stage, received my income ring, and been asked to promote something I believed in less and less. Don't ask an NAA person how much they made. Ask them how much they kept. The lead and override costs are just the beginning. The guilt you get to sign up for things that are not necessary for your business but a good income generator for NAA is tangible.
I moved over the Equita because I was told by the company owner that they would never become NAA. I was very vocal in my stance on how to run a good solid ethical business, and "recruit recruit recruit" is not the way. So both my partner and my agencies were given the boot just before Ralph came in to complete the NAA-Equita tranformation. I'm amazed at how fast they have become mirrors of one another. And how they are really promoting that you can make a 6-7 figure income just by building an agency. No need to sell. What? That's making money by "do as I say not as I do". Good luck with that. And then there's the "travel travel travel". Thay always promote the one person who had a lucky weekend fly to BFE and wrote $1M in A/P, but for each one of those there are 50 who made the trip with their last dime and now find themselves in worse shape then before. Saw it all the time at NAA.
There are better ways to do business for sure. There are other IMOs. Take your time and do you due diligence. This is a great business and can produce a great lifestyle. Just be cautious and be informed.
Ok, I'm stepping off the soap box now.

A couple of you have asked for contact info, but since I'm new I can't PM back. So I'm not posting this to promote my business. You can get in touch with me here. Always open to talk with other professionals.

Speaking of Google, I had to look up BFE.
I figured out the BF pretty quickly, but I always heard that was in Maine, so it would be BFM. That's what I love about these forums - there's so much to learn from each other.
I ran across an ad that Ralph had on craigslist in the memphis area last week and apparently he is in the "senior market" now. His ad stated sell medicare supplements in your state over the phone, sell one today and get paid tomorrow and renewals for seven years. Sell Life insurance and get paid in 72 hours. very interesting. Ralph took down his ad for the senior market here in memphis for some reason...
I agree. EQUITA IS THE NEW NAA. I remember hearing the words from Sam Wolf's mouth saying he was not interested in having a lot of agents just a few good ones. Now Ralph and all his followers are completing the task of fully converting Equita into NAA, a recruiting business with no need to sell, just recruit and at the same time fall deeper into debt. Did you know that with most insurance companies if you have an agent that leaves you and has left an unpaid charge back it will get rolled over to you. Think about this if you wish to follow Equita/NAA's recruiting steps. You better have plenty of maney saved up.
Equita is also having severe problems with keeping up their lead generation, and they're reselling leads that were denied in underwriting. The person in charge of the lead assignment admitted over the phone that up to 25% of the rejected applications are not being removed from the system, and the only way to reemburse those is to get the person on the phone with Equita. They won't look them up. They've assigned me multiple copies of the same person 4 times in 75 leads. Each time it was not a different card the same person mailed in, but literally a copy of the same card. I wonder what happens when thats 2 different agents, or they were already sold or rejected. These leads are costing 26 dollars each. I've had to have 14 out of the 76 I got replaced, because they did not meet equitas standard but were sold anyway. They had a MUCH better reputation than NAA to start with, but frankly now they look like a carbon copy with worse sales support and marketing. They're also starting their agents with 55% commissions on simplified issue, which you can beat by 25-60% by just signing with a different company.
No I am not just in the senior market. I am going to be in whatever market I can make the most money. I am coming off of a good income and need to get back there. It was my original plan to go into life and health and I got pulled into this deal with Equita. I basically need some guidance from someone so I don't wast any time.
JSKIN ... did you get a good response to your main question posed? I like you want to position myself in the right place from the start. Let me know if you recd any good guidance.

Plenty of money saved up with the intention of throwing it away...
