Scroll down for a discussion on Website templates? within the Insurance Websites.
I'm looking for a website-in-a-box for insurance sales or something close. I say this and for $500 it looks like a fair deal:
http://www.insurance-web-sales.com/
Anyone ...
That's who did mine and I am please with it, but I just use it for a web presence, not to generate leads. He does have program whereby he will teach you how to direct traffic for an addt'l fee, though.
I'm the OP here. I looked at a lot of templates and web designers, etc. but decided to just build my own using RapidWeaver (for Mac) and one of their general themes. This site took me about 5 hours to write and about 10 minutes to build using RapidWeaver.
It's not visually compelling but it fills the mission that I have for it... namely as something to reinforce my physical presence and to provide some client education. I have a quote page but I don't expect it to be used much... but you never know.
Most of you will think it is WAY too long, and that's ok. There is a reason it runs long but I don't have the time or energy to explain the theory/philosophy of Web 2.0. Others have done it better than I have. I still need to provide links to the carriers but that's easy enough to do once I decide where I want them to be. It's still a work in progress... and the nice thing about a web site is that nothing is carved in stone.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions and other advice.
I think the back group color is not bad but the quote form is to long and not that many people provide you that much information right online.
By the way, you mention " And whatever you do, do not, do not, do not buy insurance on-line or from one of the "we-sell-all-carriers" sites (we can't mention the name but you've probably seen their ads on the web and TV.) Most are phone-bank operations where you will get pressured into buying whatever "the deal of the day" is, and you will probably pay through the lower part of your anatomy to get it."
I am not sure what you mean by that but I think the underwriting will review the application the same way as online or the one you offer may be paper?
Have you ever go inside the Company ? life Blue Cross VIP tour or any other carrier? I went there few times so I spoke to underwriters and guess what?
The 1st application they review is online application and the fastest approval is online application . Of course if there is any health conditions then you need to know which carrier might take the prospect but carrier to carrier would decline prospect with major conditions. So if you try to win business to ask them complete the full form and then go to your office to complete the application that would be extra work for them for nothing...
I advice to talk to independent agent before buying any health plan but I advice to apply only online to avoid any delay .
By the way, I might not to be able to reply on this post because tomorrow is monday and very busy month for me.
I am in the process of switching hosts. Netfirms server goes down every other day it seems and my emails do not get delivered. I am switching to 1and1. My site will be up and running again in a day or two.
I got my website from MorePolicies.com You can click on my signature to see that it is very sharp and it was hassle free. The best thing is that it works great, when people search in my community it is easy to find me - good luck!
These are not typical "template websites" where you would go to some form and fill in your information and then out pops a website in 15 minutes. We actually do the work (development, photos, graphics).
It depends on what you're comparing it against. It is high if compared to cheap DIY hosters. You're asking for trouble (low relaibility, IP getting blacklisted because of spammers on a shared server, minimal website stats, ...) by using one of these ultra low price hosters for your business website and email.
The $29.95 per month is low when compared to our direct competitors (insurance/financial website design companies) with similar quality.
Insurance Web Designs: $44.90-51.85 per month
Quote Breeze: $29.95 per month
IVW Network: $49.99 per month
Insurance Website Services: $50-80 per month
The company mentioned at the start of the thread insurance-web-sales, only recommends a cheap hosting company for the website, plus I think their design/graphics quality is low.
There is also the intangible benefit of having the website design, web hosting, email, domain - all managed by the same company. There's only one company to call if you have a problem/question.
