The West Virginia Health Insurance Exchange and Marketplace will commence Open Enrollment in October for 2014 effective dates.
The WV Health Policy Unit (a division of the DOI) will implement and oversee the program. It will be a State partnership between the state and CMS.

Almost 300,000 residents of West Virginia are without medical coverage, and many will qualify for the federal subsidy that could substantially lower premiums. The expansion of Medicaid could also help many persons in the state.
