So what if you work really hard at selling insurance but just plan suck at it but you do want to do well and you try hard.
What should you do?? QUit? Life coach?? Sales classes??
If you work hard at it you won't suck. You will do fine. I find that those who suck at it are those who don't work at it. Instead of going out and finding clients they buy leads (mostly worthless) or they spend ALL their time going to networking events (chamber, rotary, charities etc.) and hope for referrals.
Unless you are a (local) celebrity, it ain't gonna happen.
If you won't do the work of prospecting you WILL suck at this. But if you spend 180 minutes out of a 1440 minute day calling businesses on the phone seeking clients, you will do fine.
You may not LIKE the business... but you won't suck at it if you work it.
The only place where "success" comes before "work"... is in the dictionary.

You get an AMEN from me. Preach it brother!!
I love saying, " HOW DID THAT WORK FOR YOU". If you do nothing, you will get nothing. The trick is to work your butt off and don't reinvent the wheel. Find a niche market and stick with it. Copy what other successful agents are doing.

Well, let's see. I've been in this business now over seventeen years. I still buy leads (although I try to avoid the "mostly worthless" kind). On the leads I have purchased this year, I have enjoyed a 688% return on my investment.

Keep failing until you get a government bailout. It's the American way now.
If you have absolutely no skills in anything, perhaps you can become Senator from New York. Just a thought.

Ben Feldman with NYL was the greatest life insurance salesman of all time but it was not until his fourth (4th) year that he qualified for the MDRT. I think it took John Savage about 9 years to really become successful. Do you have a mentor? Have you ever made joint calls with anyone experienced in the market you are working? My point is learn your trade and persevere.

Sorry, AL3,
Do you call businesses for Health first to get in the door or try Life sales first, thanks.
