What is your favorite car insurance company?

I know that there are many aspects to auto insurance. Rates, service and claims just to name a few. Overall, which company do you like best? As a life and health guy, I get asked all the time for my opinion but I can only go based on my limited experience.

There is definitely more to rates when considering most insurance and State Farm has never been anything but wonderful to deal with for everyone in my family as long as I can remember. I didn't even look elsewhere when my quote seemed reasonable.

I've been using Ameriprise Financial Assurance (formerly American Express Assurance) for almost 15 years. Limited claims requests so far, but they've been very quick and easy to work with when I needed them.

I've been with State Farm for nearly a decade now. I love their immediate responseness. And not to mention, their wonderful loss-claim staff, they were very instructive and informative when my wife's car was stolen. We received the loss-claim check in a short period of time.

State Farm has my vote!

I've had a few different car insurance companies and some minor accidents with three of them. All paid without hardly any hassle. One I had to do a little "back and forth" with over the shop's estimate and how much they said they'd pay but they ended up paying the entire bill.

I don't much difference so I'm with whoever can give me the best rate. If another company called me today and saved me 5% I'd switch. I have no loyality for car insurance.

Lets hear them...Allstate was the company that created Your Choice Auto. Everyone else is following suit, who do you want your auto insurance company to be....the one that gave you, the client, more options...or the one that is following just to play catch up?

Met offers the same thing. A few other things as well, and I'm sure there are a few things Allstate offers that Met doesn't.

Allstate is a respectable company. I have no problems with them. However, I have had auto insurance with Met for more than 25 years and I'm satisfied.

I have also written more than 5000 auto policies so I try to keep up (to some extent) with the marketplace.

Many years ago...Met hired away the President of Allstate (Ted Rupley) to run their operation. Ted's gone now, but some of the ideas he brought from Allstate are still there.

I have my homeowners and auto with Encompass. I think they are a division of Allstate. Which is kind of funny seeing that they were less expensive than Allstate. I'm sure that makes those Allstate exclusive agents happy.

I was with SF for HO and Mercury for Auto prior to my switch to Encompass. Just couldn't pass up the savings.
