Rick
Thanks for the info Rick, I found a source that was affordable. I actually received a little break on the price through MOO. They have an agreement with USAdata.com

All list companies are not created equal.
There is a huge difference between the companies who update their data occasionally and those who update their info on a regular basis.
If you buy the cheapest one you may find that when you call, the people may not have lived there for the last several years or may have died three years ago. It only costs a little more to "go first class".
Cheaper is not always better. One usually get what one pays for.
Don't be afraid to invest money in your business. Treat selling insurance like a business and your business will be successful.

Frank, I see you are no longer on the water. I have bought expensive list and cheaper list and they have both had about the same "Not in Service" percentage. I have used USAdata, infoUsa and others.Which one do you use? I was on the phone for 8 hours today and will be on Friday and most of the day Saturday. I was able to get a couple of appointments for tomorrow and a request for a LTCI quote. He said that when I met with him, we would discuss his Med. Supp. too. He has a PFFS through Aetna that was offered by DuPont when he retired, and yes, I put those in YIO.
I have made a commitment to myself that I am going to learn the phone. I need to learn to do that, as well as the other things I do. I had great luck with the first set of direct mail leads but the last 2 days were tough. I have learned that I can't rely on one prospecting techniques and I need to work different techniques at the same time. I would love to add 1 or 2 life sales every week with the Med Supps.

I hope you had a good time fishing.
Fishing was awesome again this year. We "landed" seven, hooked and did a "long distance release" on five more. Landed means we got the to the boat, took pics and released them. (Disclaimer: No fish or fishermen were injured during the trip and all were "returned" unharmed.) Our guide said the biggest one would go around 160#. My son caught that one. My biggest was around 100#. If I knew how I would post a pic.
I use Lead Concepts. I have tried others and found them to be the best. However, the last list I purchased was about two years ago. Others may have improved since them.
The phone will work it just takes time. You aren't going to have great success the first few times you use it. Practice will give you confidence.
The FE sales will come also, mostly from people you sell Med Supps to.

What criteria are you looking for? If you can give more specifics on what geography, and filters you want I can pull you a count for you. With data,m depending on the database we pull from and the quantity, we can get your cost down to 1-2 pennies per name. All of our consumer and business databases are updated monthly and the new mover and new business database are updated weekly.
If you are looking to cold call the list, we can also offer you hosted dialer service to help you eliminate disconnects and answering machines. Our hosted service dials on 4 lines per agent which really speeds up your dialing potential and total number of contacts per day.
Good luck to you!
