Did you try Ohio National by any chance?

Age 78 w/ hbp and cholesteral = Preferred with GNW...?

Doubt that he would be Pref.
Of course we don't know Ht & Wt here either... or the type of BP & Col meds, length of time controlled and any other illnesses or life events, which can all have a huge impact on the u/w results.

If well controlled, yes, he can get preferred with Genworth on HBP and cholesterol meds depending on his height/weight profile.

Bhartiaxa,

Have you EVER seen a company that guarantees dividends?

They don't exist.

Just about every carrier has a UL or WL that they can write for a 78 y/o. If the BP and Cholesterol is under control it may be possible to get preferred. best option for that age is to take an informal and have your broker shop it.

Well bhartiaxa, I don't know about nation to nation, but for sure company by company. Under control means that the client is following there doctors orders and their tests (labs) come back within normal paramiters (under 200 for cholesterol etc). There is always exception to the rule...ex. if you have a documented history of high cholesterol (maybe 250 lets say), no family history of CAD and your cholestoral jumped to 400.....and then your doctor perscribed medication and it droped back to 250...then that could be considered under control. But it would be up to the carrier in that case....some may so ok some not. Depends on a lot of factors. Hope that helps...

B, you need to check with the companies you write with for their underwriting requirements. They will have an acceptable range that a person can have to fall into a certain classification. While they aren't too different between companies, it is always good to check when you know or think cholestrol might be an underwriting issue. You might find one carrier allows for medication and allows a greater cholestrol level than another. Sometimes that is the deciding factor on where to place the application.

"from nation to nation."

From company to company.

As far as body chemistry, not as an insurance point, it does vary from region to region as you will find centuries of diets and conditions do effect the genetics of individuals. So much so that some people removed from where their family origins began will have the same health issues generations after the move.
