Ok, I am looking to get an article on one of the official OC Register blogs. The blogger uses "guest bloggers" almost every day and they are all do follow links.
While purusing the site, I noticed their link to Publish Your Stuff. You register your name and you are able to host your own blog on their website, and they are all do follow links. Also, the interior blog pages are a PR2 and the domain has a PR7! Sweet. So, I am starting my own blog, which will mirror my soon to come wordpress blog on my site. I will spin some articles and put up unique posts and I will anchor text link the hell out of the posts.
Even better! OC Register is owned by Freedom Communications. I found three other newspapers they own from their site that also let you post your own blog. I will make some more unique content for those as well, short and easy and sweet.
So, 4 blogs hosted on reputable newspaper sites x 10 posts x 2 links each post = 80 backlinks and I am sure I will do more than that.
