I just read that the House and Senate voted to continue unemployment benefits for those out of work. In the House it was 403 to 12. In the Senate it was 98 to 0.
I'm sure you arch-cons applaud the 12 Reps in the house who voted against it. But can you tell me why all the other Reps in the House... and every Rep in the Senate voted for this hand-out, give-away.
Aren't you folks against government programs that give people money for doing nothing? Isn't that what unemployment benefits are?
How can you Reps say you are "conservative" if you vote to give low-life and dead-beat Dems a free handout?
You are all against health care reform, but you are OK with unemployment benefits and home-buyer tax credits?

Please explain to this confused mod/lib.
Thank you.
You are blatantly misrepresenting the conservative movement. We all think we need healthcare reform. The prices are going through the roof. But just dumping money on a program and starting up a new entitlement is not the answer. I know the richest 1% of us should pay for everything, but that won't happen since politicians like being flown to exotic locations on private planes.
Good question though. Since I'm working and paying my taxes while these people collect unemployment benefits (which I'm paying for) shouldn't they at least wash my car or wash my windows on my house or something? I've got all kinds of projects to do around the house. Heck I could use an extra hand this weekend while I brew beer. I suppose that is below welfare recipients though.
I think you should vote Rep. I sure don't want anyone like you in my party... and you would not be happy with us anyway.
I'm already not happy with you.
I think you a-cons are stuck in Alabama of 1958. The rest of us have moved on.
You "think"? The balance of your statement demonstrates that thinking has nothing to do with the accusation that you continue to repeat. And clearly the last person who will move on is you. I don't see anybody else repeating this over and over and over and over...
(Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just glad to read my post!) .
No, it's a gun and I'm never "happy" to read your posts.
Sounds to me like the dems were hoping to be able to get the repubs to not support unemployment benefits so that they could use that as a weapon against them but it didnt happen. Darn, they just hate that because with health care, the economy, and Afg working against them they need the repubs to do something really draconian. The Party of No said Yes to unemployment assistance so now they apparently get chided for that as well.
Maybe if the repubs start to join with the dems to support certain areas of health care reform the dems can begin to chide them for doing that too and ask how a bunch of neo-con wackos can stomach working with the dems. Yeh, that will help. I see health care reform gliding right through when you do that. Probably be an improvement over their strategy to date. Maybe Congressman Nutcase from Florida can call all the repub women whores for working with the dems. That should put health care reform out to about 2034.

Remember the Medicare Part D expansion led by George W. Bush? The Republicans aren't much better (if at all) than the Democrats when it comes to spending and entitlements. And who can blame them, if they voted for what was in the best interest of the country, they would be voted out immediately. Everyone has their hand out.
