World Express Med Premier Competitive!?             Go to Top

Forum Members: Today was the first time ever after I ran rates for a guy in a town 45 miles west of my office in which the World Express Med Premier HSA was actually competitive in pricing when compared to the the two other top HSA plans in my area: One Deductible with Assurant and the HSA 100 with Golden Rule. This hardly ever ever happens, but evidently a miracle happened with World Insurance pricing...Surprisingly with the 3 year rate lock on the World Premier Product, and with the accident rider built in, it was still about $150 cheaper per month than either Assurant's HSA (with the 3 year lock as well ) and the HSA 100 with Assurant (2 year lock added)...I was stunned, again this literally never happens when I run rates. Anyway, then I also noted that with this product you could also sell a tack on critical illness rider for a few extra bucks and still come in below on pricing when compared to nearly the exact GR and Assurant HSA offerings. However, when I checked the brochure on this product, no definition of critical illness was clearly defined. Anybody have any experience selling this CI rider on this particular plan - and would you say that selling a tack on CI rider is easier to sell than say an additional stand alone simplied issue CI product from Assurity or others - thus additional paperwork and time in the home filling out a SEPARATE application? How and would you sell a CI rider on the World Express Med Premier product? I have never been a fan of World Insurance, but today the rates surprised me.

Here is the wording in the brochure:

Outpatient Prescription Drugs - Covered
Specialty drugs are always subject to deductible and coinsurance

Ok, how does this definition in the World brochure differ (better or worse) than the definition of RX coverage with either Assurant or GR?

Here is further details from the brochure:

You can fi nd a list of participating pharmacies — along with
Your plan’s formulary list — at
www.express-scripts.com.
Formulary” is a list of eligible outpatient drugs.
Th e preferred list may include Generic and Brand Name drugs.
Generic drugs have the same active ingredients as Brand Name
Drugs — but generally cost less. Both Generic and Brand Name
Drugs are approved by the Food & Drug Administration.
Th ere are also Specialty drugs — high-cost medications
And biologicals that are often used to treat complex clinical
Conditions. Th ey usually require close management by a
Physician because of their potential side eff ects and need for
Frequent dosage adjustments.
