Wasn't there a post along these lines about saving people money, but the software was at no charge or only about $20?
Where you put all your debt into it and the software tells you what to pay first and how much...
Of course, you could always just listen to Dave Ramsey (has a radio talk show about getting out of debt) and get the info for free, or go to his seminar for $40 when he is in your town.
Just make sure there is not a pre-payment penalty in your contract or that will affect the return.

I agree. That is why I stick with insurance and not any other products.
I figure that we have all been approached by other companies wanting us to sell other products. Have you done so?
Like the software thing. You want to save money on your insurance, here is a policy to do so. You want to further the savings, here is a program to help you with the house. You like my shirt, $5. How about my kid, I will even owner finance.
Rug Doctor, I pass out coupons to all my clients I meet with personally. So far 5 have hit the shop in a short time period, two were professionals, one a veterinarian and the other a photographer. I really don't see a big problem having seperate products, they ask me about my Rug Doctor business and/or investment! I then have them right where I want them!

Sorry, but there is a product out there now and several lenders offer it including Wells Fargo. Its a heloc 1st and the "magic" is that when you deposit your monthly paycheck against the heloc and then draw against it as the month goes by to pay bills. conventional mortgage interest is caluclated on a monthly amortization, the heloc is interest per day. The theory is that youll pay less interest. Of course this assumes your rates stays below where you would be at with a regular fixed or ARM rate. Good try though, gimmick, scam or whatever you want to call anyone selling "software" to replicate this process.

The UFirstFinancial money merge account is an MLM scheme, I believe the "founder" person is formerly of Primerica. That pretty much says it all. Depending on your "level" within the MLM, you get $500-$2000 of the $3500 you're selling to the client. (Based on what I've heard, I personally don't like this program and think it's scam-oriented)
