According to the preferred health analyzer in Compulife (my company/product), Principal National will give a 50 year old, 6', 260 pounds, their preferred non-tobacco rate.

Yep, never fails. I no sooner draw attention to a situation like Principal, and I discover the company has just rolled out new preferred health requirements. And what did they change, height weight charts of course.

As it works now, to qualify for a preferred rates, a 6' person must not weight more than 229 (age 20-44), 232 (age 45-64) or 236 (age 65-99).

Super standard weight limit for the 6' is now 244 (age 20-44), 251 (age 45-64) or 258 (age 65-99).

Standard is unchanged at 269 (age 20-44) or 276 (age 45-99).

In the example above, the limited moved from 261 pounds down to 232. Yeah, radical. Occasionally I get the impression that science is not at the root of some of the numbers we see being used.

Just posting the new requirements to the web in the next 30 minutes.
