I had a lot of interesting experiences in the 7+ years I spent in the field. It is a great training ground for agents, underwriters and adjusters. I inspected just about any kind of risk you can imagine, from paint manufacturers, furniture factories, and steam plants to flop houses, green hide and fat rendering plants, and gentlemen’s clubs. I also spent most of 5 years doing public protection surveys to set the PPC class, from Bucksnort, TN to New Orleans, LA, evaluating fire departments, water systems, and codes enforcement.
