Can a Denied Claim Be Counted As One At-fault Claim?

I'm getting ready to file a claim for a minor mishap.(under $2500) However,
there is a chance that it will be denied because I've waited too long.

Since this is an at-fault claim, I realize that it will go on my policy record.

However, if the claim is denied to to my procrastination, can the insurance
still count it as an at-fault claim and raise my rates? (since they pay $0
when claims are denied) I guess I'll have to think twice if the answer to
this question is yes. :)

Just wondering....

thanks! :)

Yes, it is quite common for denied claims to be reported on your CLUE Report (insurance claims database used by all insurers) a $0 claims. But the details, fault and any other pertinent details may be included and used by your current and future insurers as if they had paid out $2500 on the claim.

Thus, it would be wise to first find out how firm the deadline is and what the chances are it will be denied before filing the claim. You definitely won't want this on your record if you aren't going to get any financial compensation. Especially if you have a clean record thus far.
