Claims Question...

I have an insured (restaurant) that was informed by their landlord that they (the landlord) will be fixing a structural issue with the floor and that repair will cause the restaurant to close operations (approx 1 week). Can they file a claim against the landlord for loss of income or against their own policy for business interruption?
Thanks in advance.

I believe there has to be a covered peril under their own policy in order to put in a business income claim. ie, fire, lightning, theft...etc.
Building maintenance is not a covered peril. so no i would not think you could.

he may want to review his lease and see if there is anything in there.
