Commission Split Question

50/50 is fine for new business however you should be getting a higher commission when renewals come up as long as you are servicing the client and do the renewal. Maybe and 80/20 or 90/10 on renewals. Otherwise it will be impossible to make any money long term.

Please point me in the direction of any agency willing to give 80-90% of the renewal commission, particularly when the agency will be handling the servicing.
 
If you are generating the leads and there is no base salary I'd listen to others and ask min 70% on new business and 40% renewals.

I pay a competitive salary and offer 40/30.
